Located in Union Market, one of the city's most exciting neighborhoods, it's another hit from the Starr group, who never miss.
St. Anselm: The Gospel of Grilled Greatness If flavor had a church, St. Anselm would be the cathedral—and the salmon collar would be its holy sacrament. This dish? Transcendent. A perfect balance of crispy, buttery, and smoky, with just enough salt, pepper, and garlic to let the fish speak for itself. The fat melts right off the bone like poetry on a plate, a bite so divine you’ll consider writing a thank-you note to the chef.
Mi Vida at The Wharf gets it right. Great food, a variety of delicious margaritas, waterfront views, and people watching at the epicenter of DC’s newest destination that hits every time. The service is dialed in, the space is beautiful, and the energy feels just right whether you’re on a date or out with friends. One of my favorite DC spots for a reason.

It feels like stepping into a real Italian deli. Fresh, no-frills sandwiches, high-quality oils, spices, and wine, plus prepped meals you can take home and enjoy. It’s the kind of spot that just gets it right. Tony Soprano would go here.
The price is a steal. These sandwiches are fresh, loaded, and full of flavor—like your nonna made ‘em with love and a little attitude. You’ll also find real-deal Italian spices, oils, and pantry gems you won’t see anywhere else. The vibe? Feels like Paulie Walnuts could be outside in a track suit, catching rays and taking meetings between bites. Respect.
The FDR Memorial is one of the most powerful and peaceful spots in DC. It’s set along the Tidal Basin with open space, running water, and powerful quotes carved in stone. Go at night. The lighting, the stillness, and the quiet make it hit even harder. It’s a place to reflect, to pause, and to connect with the weight of history in a way that stays with you.
